Sea Swift's Trinity Bay on her weekly trip to Cape York.

4 May: Horn Island - Loading Day.
Friday, 4 May 2012

Today was the day my kayak and I separated for the first time in a long, long time, but I know we'll see each again soon.

Yesterday I'd seen the shipping company Sea Swift, here on Horn Island, to let them know about my kayak needing a trip back to Cairns. Steve in the office here on Horn Island said he'd have a container ready for me to put my kayak in first thing in the morning.

Well this morning, true to his word, he had a container all ready for me to load my kayak into. So all I had to do was to tie my kayak into the container, throw in my gear bags and shut the doors.

I would just like to say thanks to all the staff on Horn Island and Victor at Sea Swift's head office in Cairns, for all your help and making it so easy for me to get my kayak back to Cairns.

With the loading of the kayak going so smoothly, I had the rest of the day to head over to Thursday Island and play tourist. I really do like this part of the world.

Saying goodbye to my 'bitch' almost brought a tear to my eye.
The all important quarantine sticker that must have before your kayak and gear can leave this quarantine zone.
Arriving over at the big smoke, Thursday Island.
On the way back to Horn Island as I looked back to Thursday island.
